Please help - need a bra for sagging breasts

Anonymous
This is embarrassing and not a joke post. I'm a 36D. Ever since I had DC, my breasts have sagged. I watched the Oprah show on better fitting bras. Oprah herself wears Wacoal (spelling?). So I bought them. They help but are not enough to compensate for the sagging. So the other day I was talking to a friend and she whispered in a shocking tone of voice, "Are you not wearing a bra today?!" Of course, I was. I know the rule that the midpoint of your breasts should fall directly in the middle of the distance between your shoulder and elbow. Mine are more closer to my elbow. Do I have to live with these embarrassingly sagging breasts or is there some kind of wonder bra out there that will lift my breasts a whole three inches above where they are now?

In perhaps the worst day of the superficial part of my life, I went to Cylene and they recommended a bra with padding along the top half of the cups. I couldn't buy it on principle (I also bought my first one piece bathing suit ever so it was depressing enough already). Might be worth a shot, though.

Who cares what your girlfriend whispered to you?
Get on with your life lady!

Get yourself to a good bra fitter and try on several styles. Wacoal makes great bras but you have to find both the right style AND the right fit.

I love my Rigby and Peller bras. They are expensive, but provide excellent support (I am 34FF) and worth every penny, IMO.

Where do you get them? Thanks!

i've heard GREAT things about The Full Cup -- www.thefullcup.com. Store is in Old Town Alexandria. I am headed there as soon as BF is over!

I definitely recommend Sylene in Bethesda. I went there after seeing recommendations about them on this site, and the people that work there really seem to know what they are doing. Get measured well, then tell them your problem, and I think they'll be able to present you with a number of options.

I agree with the posters who say go get yourself fitted at a store. I went to Trousseau in Vienna - I had always thought I was a 36C, but they measured me at a 34DD. They said most people wear their straps too loose and they need to be tight for good support. I got a couple Fantasie bras and a La Mystere one (also recommended by Oprah!). It was strange to have the straps so tight for a couple of days, but then I got used to it.

Le Mystere is fantastic! Also noticed the saggy boobs post SF, and the LM Tisha T-shirt bra is great.

LOVE LOVE LOVE the Tisha bra. Lots of support..believe me! I lost 250 lbs my breast sag so badly but in this bra you would never guess!! LOVE IT, worth every penny they cost!

Not OP, but I live close to Sylene. I'm currently pregnant and my breasts are growing. I was a 32C, but now I have no idea where I am. I'm pretty sure my ribcage is growing slightly too. I just don't want to spend too much money on a bra that I may outgrow again in a month or two. How expensive are the bras there?

Any bra recommendations for someone with a small chest? I am a saggy A cup, post nursing. Bummer, but I think a good bra will help! Obviously, I want padding!

When you get yourself measured for bras, do you leave a tip for the person? I intend to buy some bras after the measuring session, is that sufficient? Thanks.

I went to full cup and cannot recommend it enough. Yes the bras are pricey but well worth it. You can also get a style that can convert into a halter and criss cross in the back. I am a 36D as well and love the brand mary jo that they carry. They are very helpful. Good luck.
