They are pretty difficult to find in the States, but Trousseau in Vienna still carries the line. (Neiman Marcus used to have it until about 2 years ago.) |
Well-endowed Sylene fan here. A well-fitting bra makes huge difference in comfort and appearance; I recommend trying La Mystere and Chantal bras -- pretty, but with good support. As for padding, my initial reaction was the same as the PP who was repulsed at the idea, but I needed the support, so went with a lightly padded Chantal bra, which is now one of my favorites. Re tipping, I've never heard of tipping a salesperson and don't think it's expected at all. |
I read this yesterday and then this morning as I was getting dressed I tightened my straps to the tightest possible. WHAT A DIFFERENCE!! More support and funny enough far more comfortable as well. |
I love the Wacoal. Maybe OP needs to be fitted?
I went to a fitter at Nordstrom's (petite lady with european accent, I can't remember her name) and came out with 4 excellent Wacoals (different styles). People keep asking me if I lost weight because my top half is lifted MUCH better. (I"m 34 DD post-pregnancy) |

The most common complaints is improper fit, since ready-to-wear bras in stores do not give the support, comfort and fit a woman needs. The Jeunique Bra offers you something you cannot find elsewhere - a unique patented design that incorporates what we call a Banderin - shelf type support which encourages delicate bust tissue up and forward into the cup area, supporting and directing the bust tissue as nature intended. REASONS YOU NEED A Custom Fit Bra THAT WORK WITH YOUR BODY * Your bust has no muscle. * When gravity pulls your breast down, it also stretches your throat and face tissue. * Your breast depends on an outside source of support to keep its shape. * The shape of your breast is determined by the bras you wear. * Ordinary bras on the market today are only covers. * Your bust must be lifted to allow for proper circulation. * Without proper support, lymphatic drainage is impeded, which interferes with cellular health. * Breast disease is more likely when there is no circulation and lymphatic drainage. |
Another Wacoal fan- you can also find them at Loehmans and Filenes. On occaision I also like Natori which are there as well. I thought I was a 34 B/sometimes C, until I was fitted and am 32 C. |
To the small breasted poster. Try a demi cup with padding on the sides and underwire, of course. Biofit from Victoria Secret makes a good one. |
I would to second the Trousseau recommendation (I got Fantasie bras from there - they lift really well - 36E here). |
hate sylene. had a bad experience there and i am convinced it was because of my ethnic background.
trousseau - excellent, excellent, excellent. have been going there for several years and i've never been disappointed. true professionals. |
I'm a 32A and second this recommendation: demi cup, padding, underwire. But I survive wearing the cheap Target brand. Consumer Reports gave them the 'best buy' rating. |
i am bigger than that and i go to nordstroms |
Wow that was really helpful, I always wore a 34DD, but just recently i went to get measured since i'm no longer breast feeding and feel my breast are starting to sag, and they measured me at a 32DDD, wow! i think i need somebody that really knows how to measure, but i will definately look into these bras! Thanks Ladies! |
these are the experiences of a 34G. ugh, yes, a 34G.
always wear a sleep bra at night. don't ever go without support. if you've got tatas this is an unfortunate reality. always buy a very, very high quality sports bra if you are jumping, running, etc. i love trousseau in vienna. they have always helped me find the perfect bra and now that they've expanded, they have even greater inventory. they will even alter your bras at no cost if purchased there (believe it or not, it is not that easy to find the perfect fit, sometimes you need altering). a dirty secret is that i get measured and fitted at trousseau and i will buy one bra for their effort, but i will then go online and find the same bra for much cheaper (become a google search master) - this way, i reward trousseau for their assistance but i buy the additional bras/back-ups for cheaper on-line. |
