bleeding in very early pregnancy?

Anonymous
I started bleeding lightly around the time my period was supposed to start. it was not like a period, though. On the other hand, it is more than implantation bleeding and lasting longer than implantation bleeding should. I got a positive pregnancy test but the light bleeding/spotting continues. Has anybody experienced this before? I am resigning myself to the idea that this pregnancy won't last but maybe this is not abnormal?

I had bleeding early until about 15 weeks. I was caused by a blood clot. It was also painful and crampy. I had two previous losses so the bleeding really upset me when it first occurred. Thankfully, it worked out and I have twins. Best wishes.

itncouldnturn out to be ok so don't lose hope. I had bleeding with my first from 13dpo to 9 weeks. It was so heavy at times that I called in sick to work once, fully expecting to miscarry. She's 3 now. I also had it with my miscarriages, so anything can happen. But it's not uncommon to have some bleeding.

Something similar happened to me and I am currently in limbo waiting to see whether this will turn out to be a viable pregnancy. My spotting/light bleeding started about a week before my period was due, and was on and off for 11 days. I went to the doctor the day I got a positive HPT because I was worried about an ectopic pregnancy. This has since been ruled out. My beta HCG levels have been on the low side but more or less increasing appropriately over the past couple of weeks. Ultrasounds (3 so far) show that I'm measuring several days behind what would be expected given my LMP, but the growth has been consistent from one ultrasound to the next. I just had another ultrasound today and I'm measuring 6 wks 2 days but the heartbeat is on the lower side (94-95; doc said they like to see over 100). The tech had a hard time measuring it though. I go back for another ultrasound in 2 weeks. I am hoping for the best but preparing for the worst.

OP, you might want to see if your OB will order bloodwork so you can see if your betas are rising appropriately and/or go for an early ultrasound. Hope it turns out OK for both of us!
