Tyler's Place

For those of you who have gone to Tyler's Place - would there be an issue (with staff or other parents) with our family having 2 moms. I wouldn't think so - being Vermont - but I hate being a novelty (especially on vacation) - "oh you are the family with two moms......ohhhhh."

No issue, but you will probably be the only family with same-gender parents. So, yes, you will be a novelty -- just like the family from Japan was a novelty one year when we were at TP or, another summer, the folks with 2 sets of identical twins, or the dad who broke his foot windsurfing the first day. It's a small place and there's no anonimity, which, of course, has it's pluses and minuses.

BTW, we went for several years when our kids were younger and loved it. Kids program is excellent, so very relaxing for parents. Only downsides: you give up privacy b/c of the "camp" feeling (e.g., everybody eats 3 meals a day together) and, after a few years, the comforting routine gives way to monotony. By then, however, your kids will be old enough to do more interesting and adventurous vacations, and you'll have some good memories of TP.
