Subaru Forester or Honda CRV?

I like the Subaru. It's so cute. CRV is slightly cheaper with better gas mileage. We'd be buying used in any case. Thoughts?

We went with the Mazda CX-5, which is the sightly cheaper Mazda version of the CR-V. Happy with it so far.

Search for other threads on this topic. I'm surprised you think the Subaru is cuter. I thought it was clunkier.

Subaru has 4 wheel drive, which is nice. We really liked ours, although eventually we got a smaller car.

Is Honda still leaps and bounds more long term reliable than subie?

The Subaru Forester is the number 1 lesbian car in the US. (Not the there's anything wrong with that) Just google it.

I think the crv gets more baseline features included (Bluetooth, back up camera, etc) or it did a few years ago when we were looking. Love the crv.

Forrester drives better and is more appealing. The CRV has that tapered rear window which looks odd.

CRV is the he industry standard.

We got a CX-5 too, and love it. It's the Touring edition (much better engine and features than base model, still great price). I believe it came out 2 years ago, so OP should be able to find used models if interested.

I didn't like how the Mazda drove. How about the Subaru Crosstrex? I think it's actually a pretty attractive car. It's like the hatchback impreza but with a higher suspension.

I had a CRV for a decade and loved it. Worked great in snow. I even took it off road. Never had any mechanical problems.
My mom has always had Foresters and ALWAYS has problems with them.

We bought a 2015 forester almost 2 years ago. Liked it far more than the crv. Better visibility, gas mileage, pick up, and the car saved our lives in a horrific car accident (bought the same exact one again). With either you are probably better off buying new rather than a few years used, as the used inventory is slim and barely discounted. You can get a Subaru for ~4% below invoice if you work a few days on it.

We've done both Honda and Subaru (but not those models). Love, love, love the Subaru.
