| ......that is below the knee and doesn't show my chest (boobs), I am thinking its impossible. |

how covered up on top are we talking here? how formal/fancy?
how about a sheath dress with a boat neck or crew neck? usually j crew or ann taylor has stuff like this in their "party" (wedding) options. i've seen dresses there that come to just below the knee. might check macy's and nordstrom and/or dillards too - some of the "business" styles from liz claiborne or jones new york or tahari or maggy london might be suitable. nordstrom has a shirtdress from Jones NY that is long enough and covered-up enough, though not formal enough for a lot of occasions. (their websites are good.) http://tinyurl.com/q8xv38 (here's one) |
| To the PP thanks for your time. It doesn't have to be fancy, I would say dressy casual (?). I checked all of the stores you mentioned, they either are too short or too revealing. Thanks for the rec of the black dress. It might work, I was hoping for something more exciting, but I don't think that will happen. Thanks again! |
| Talbots, despite criticisms from many on this board, may be a good bet. Also try Garnet Hill, Eileen Fisher, Irresistibles (in wildwood shopping center in Bethesda) |

From the major local dept stores - I find Lord and Taylor has the best selection of dresses.

Two websites that have a lot of dresses, including several selections that should meet your requirements are:
chadwicks.com and newport-news.com (and they have great prices, but we're not talking haute couture here). |
