| I am looking for a great stylist who can cut natural hair. I want a really great cut - something layered? |
| Bang Salon at Verizon Center. They do natural hair. |
| Andrea at Ipsa in Georgetown does a great job. I've noticed that she works with all textures. She does amazing color as well if you're not opposed to all chemical processing. |
| Is Andrea black? |

I hear you!
I have had my hair messed up by so many"xxx" that I have gone to the extent of asking what color my hair dresser is
It just has to be someone black for my hair. and I had the same question about Andrea(georgetown)....uhm..uhm....I have decided to check out the place and see if Andrea and find out whether she is actually black....ha!ha!

Yes Bang Salon at verizon will do a very good job even the white girls there are good they know how to do black hair very well.
you cant go wrong on this one give them a call. |
| HEEHEE! I do get nervous. I typically ask when I call and make my appointment. I feel like you have to have black hair to understand how to cut it. Now when I had a perm, I used to go to Vidal Sassoon and the non-black girls did a great job cutting it. Natural hair however different story! |
| Andrea is black. Although I'd calll her very light toffee myself . And wears her hair natural in a very hip, medium legnth 'fro. |

NP, I'm AA with thick, coarse, natural shoulder-length hair and from experience I know that it's best to find a stylist who has experience working with my hair texture.
I've had horrible experiences with both black and white stylists who claimed that they "do" natural hair. These days, I groom my hair myself. Why don't you try one of those shops up near Howard University/Georgia Ave. |
