ideas for weekend getaways in Va or Md or beyond?

My parents are coming to visit, and I'd like to give them a vacation in a vacation, and send them somewhere for a few days. I'm thinking Williamsburg, but don't know much about how to get there from here (they won't be driving) or where to stay. Any ideas?

I believe they can take the train to Willamsburg.

How about Baltimore or Philly - they can take Amtrak.

Savage River Lodge in PA. You have to drive but its easy - maybe 2.5 hrs

I don't know where they are from but what about Atlantic City for a quick trip. Or Annapolis is also a pretty close, yet great option.
