I bought tomato and cucumber plants from the garden store and they told me I shouldn't plant them (in my container garden) until the nighttime temps were in the mid 50s. I've been keeping them inside on my window sill for a week or so now. I just noticed the nighttime temps this coming week are only supposed to be in the upper 40s. Is anyone else waiting another week to plant their warm weather vegetable plants? It just seems like it is getting so late in the season to start the garden.
Mine have been planted for about 3 weeks. All are fine, just a bit soggy.
Mine have been planted a week and are ok. I don't know what all this rain will do to them long term though.
My plants are arriving this week and will go in over the weekend. There is no benefit to planting tomatoes and peppers in cool weather. They will catch up quickly once it warms up.
