I've been a runner for many years, but I have increasingly turned to group classes - pilates, barre, and cycling - for exercise.
What's weird is I have been getting pretty bad back breakouts even though I always shower after classes and never had body breakouts when sweating from running outside or on treadmills. What gives? Do you have an effective regimen to keep body breakouts at bay? I've found that if I use an anti-acne body scrub along with a Murad anti-acne body spray this helps somewhat, but it's so annoying to have to do this now when I've never had to. |
| Could you be allergic to any of the mats? Or cleaning solution used on the mats? |
| Something must be different (unless it's just that you're working out more) - different clothes (tighter/less breathable?) As other pp said, reaction to the mats? Towels at the gyms you go to (maybe the detergent they use)? |
| What works well for me is a 10% benzoyl peroxide wash. Sometimes I've switched over to salicylic acid body wash and it doesn't work nearly as well as the B.P. |

Maybe it is hormonal and you are thinking it's the workout.
Ive consistently exercised and once I hit 40, I started to get acne. It's awful and apparently completely normal at the beginning of perimenopause. |
Thanks I will try this. |
| Another vote for BP. I use a gel. Only thing that's worked. |
