Serious question: Does anyone actually know a trans gender person?

Anonymous
This question is for non-trans people.

I know two. Why are you asking?
Anonymous
Closely no.

But I'm two or three degrees from several.
Anonymous
Yes, a close family member.
Anonymous
No. My parents do, but I have never met one.

My ex. He's now FTM but then identified as a lesbian. Various students in my school (I am a teacher and I'm counting at least five from over the past 7-8 years). My best friend's ex. At least 2-3 acquaintances from college.

No. Sounds like this is a growing mental health disorder.

No. And I just mentioned this to someone last week and I think they thought I was in the minority not knowing anyone.

In DC's school there are two I suspect are. They both use the bathrooms of their biological sex now. In high school though I suspect they will come out.

It's not considers a mental health disorder. Get with the times.

Two people I went to college with, both FTM. one is more androgynous as opposed to fully transition but I think that's the ultimate intention. I probably know more if I really thought about it

College acquaintance. He was really annoying in college (but we had a lot of common friends). She is now so much more pleasant to be around-I think a mix of being older and finally being comfortable with herself.

Two. One a student at my son's HS. She dressed as a guy, used the men's room, was issued a Tux vs a dress for orchestra...and NOBODY cared. Another is the young adult daughter of a friend.

I know one (daughter of a friend). And I suspect that there are others - but how would I know, and why would I care?
Anonymous
Yes. I know four trans* folks as friends, and a whole passel of folks who identify as genderqueer or otherwise nonbinary.
