. September was not very rough for the 2026 or 2025 Capital and I would say November will be a breeze....... I imagine the same traejctory for 2027/2028 once recruiting is in full swing.

Let me put my glasses on for this. Are you implying the 2028 teams are as good as the 2025 teams? I need a new prescription.

Not the PP but this topic has run its course on this page (like many others). Here is the recap:

A lot of people think the 2028 Capital team is terrible despite being comprised of a large majority of Pride players who ended last season ranked #7 which is higher than any Pride team ever ranked prior to the mass exodus to Capital that occurs in 9th grade.

People that have been following Capital for a while (and follow the 2025, 2026, etc) say this happens every year when girls merge to a new team to start high school and each year the Capital teams get better which culminates in excellent recruiting success (which is hard to argue).

Time will tell if this 2028 group follows the same trajectory but I guess there will be 200 more pages of the same argument until recruiting time comes

why don't you just start your own text thread for capital blue parents. You obviously are one.

So what if he is? I like hearing about Capital as I do all of the other clubs - MD included.

Same here, though I would probably prefer a more balanced discussion including the other teams, including teams not in the top 10. I do like to know what's going on at the top MD clubs for reference if anyone can share how the big dogs are looking. I hear Hero's is stronger to the detriment of Coppermine, and initial reports of Sky Walkers were positive. How about M&D Black and Crush? What's the conventional wisdom for pecking order of the top MD teams? And then what is the pecking order of the second teams at the top clubs?

From what I hear, coming out of summer reshuffling on the Maryland side, here is the preseason pecking order:

--Hero's Green (finished #2): Locked and loaded to compete for #1 ranking over full season. Only got stronger and will integrate new top middie into rotation. Some on the MD boards expressed concern about chemistry, but I think coaching and team culture are strong enough that this works.

--Crush (finished #5): Kept their whole core team together. Played quite well over the summer. Still have top caliber coaching. Big call to have them jumping Coppermine, but going with trajectory and continuity.

--M&D Black (finished #6): I went back and forth on whether to put Coppermine or M&D in this slot. I believe M&D had the most roster movement of any big MD club. Added some strong talent from Coppermine and lost a couple good players to them. Still strong in all phases with good coaching and strong club organization. May leap Coppermine.

--Coppermine (finished #4): Interesting season and offseason for Coppermine. From total dominance to becoming beatable down the stretch. They had a lot of roster and even coaching movement over the summer. Lost an outstanding player, but will still field possibly the strongest midfield in the group/country. Will be interesting to see how they adapt to losing great players to M&D and Hero's.

--Sky Walkers (finished #17): By all accounts they looked good at the play day and have added some talent. They run a great dynamic offense and play disciplined D. I see them climbing up toward, if not into, the top 10, passing MDU East, but not overtaking their Baltimore area rivals.

--MDU East (finished #12): Solid top 15 team. Kept team together. Came back to the pack a bit last year, but will hold position in the 10-15 ranking range.

Coppermine has several out of state players to try and fill their roster. They didn’t gain any starters from other teams and will not keep up with Hero’s or M&D.

Normal size rosters are 20-22 players. Did you miss the point here? Coppermine had a mass exodus this summer. The players they brought in were non factors from other teams along with out of state players.

Coppermine will be fine. The players that left were talented, but the coaches didn’t know how to use them anyway. They will benefit their new teams greatly, and there is still a core of players at Coppermine talented enough to keep them in the top brackets.

If I had to guess, Capital figures it had a successful recruiting history and they set their own rules. If they were having trouble getting girls recruited, then maybe more people would complain.

So is there a roster somewhere out there or not? It isn’t a difficult question.
