Son wants to play baseball at his birthday party and a bounce house?

My son has been saying he wants us all to play baseball at his birthday party and also have a bounce house. I feel like that is just too much. My son is obsessed with sports at 6 years old but many of the kids in his class are not. throw a bounce house in to the mix and then no one will want to play his baseball game! Any suggestions as to how I can do this party? Just do one or the other? Any ideas on a baseball birthday party? We live in DC so I don't have a backyard so would need to use a local park. Thanks.

Sports themed event at home. Six friends for sixth birthday party. Make it special. Less is more, OP. Believe me.

PP, so you're telling OP: no playing baseball, no bounce house, just do something else at home (make it special, though!), how many kids to invite (make sure to exclude some boys because you must only invite 6, no more no less), and who to believe. Your post cracked me up.

OP, I'd lean towards the bounce house since most active 6 year olds all like it. Baseball is more specific. How about using baseball themed decorations, plates, etc. and kids could swing a bat at a baseball piƱata?

How can you do a bounce house at a park? I don't believe you can. Most kids like the bounce house, so I'd go with that. Not everyone plays baseball. Maybe you could also get some games of catch going and do a "running the bases" relay race in your yard. Theme up the party around baseball but skip the actual game.

Check your local regs to make sure you can have a bounce house in the park. I agree with PPs, I would make the party baseball themed, an throw the bounce house in if you can.

some parks will let you set one up.

A child doesn't need to get everything they want for their birthday party. Do the bounce house. It's easier, more kids will be into it and it's less stress as a parent to plan.

At 6, more kids will enjoy the bounce house than baseball. Don't know if you can set up a bounce house on a public park, but you can look into the various bounce house venues outside of DC. They'll take care of pretty much everything.

I have been to bounce house parties at two parks in DC.

Instead of an organized game, I'd probably buy a couple t-ball sets and leave it out for the kids to play.

Find a park that allows a bounce house. Bring baseball gear in case the kids want to play. Make it baseballs themed.

Rockville Sportsplex can do a combo party. You can do soccer, football, basketball, floor hockey, dodgeball, or wiffleball, and then add inflatables for $100.

I would do a bounce house and make the party baseball themed.
