| I am poised to get an offer for a job I am interested in (Job A). I now have an interview for Job B next week. Both jobs appear to be good opportunities; B might be better overall, but I don't yet have all the details on that, so I could be wrong. I would like to be able to consider job B, but that will depend on the timing of the offer of job A. If Job A calls with an offer, what might it be appropriate to say to buy a bit of time? |

"This is really fascinating. Can I have the weekend to think it over?"
Then on Monday; "I'm excited. Before I make a final decision could you put me in touch with some team members?" Have that take a week or so. Then counter with something assuming you haven't learned something from those discussions that makes you think otherwise. By then job B should be decided. |
