Anyone who uses the offensive term "special needs" is not getting my vote. |
He didn't do any of that. |
Must be listing Frisch’s accomplishments. |
What’s offensive about the term? You people demand everyone use the language you decided yesterday was appropriate and stop using the language you decided yesterday was inappropriate. It’s your own form of bullying and exclusion, under the guise of inclusion, and it’s tiresome. |
DP That’s the first I’ve heard of it being offensive. ES Teacher |
Please tell me what she said was "unhinged?" Everything she listed was true. |
Yes, we have gone full circle and are now back to disabled. That will certainly make a child with special needs feel better about themselves. |
| There is no bigger idiot in local public office than Karl Frisch. |
Not every child with special needs is necessarily disabled. |
Is “special needs” offensive? |
Saundra is very reasonable, moderwte and child/parent focused. It would be so refreshing to have at least one centrist voice on the school board, especially since Megan is retiring. I don't understand the left being so partisan that they only want one monolithic far left voice represented on the school board, with no moderates, no centriwt democrats and no conservwtives, especially in a county as diverse as Fairfax County. Why are the far left school board so afraid of discussion, debate, dissent and diverse viewpoints? Are their ideas so bad that they cannot survive even a basic discussion or debate? |
Saundra is very moderate and a centrist. Only an extreme partisan would view her positions as "right wing" |
| Hi Saundra, I think you are really missing an excellent chance to appeal to moderates by saying there is porn in schools and focusing on masks. Please drop those points, focus in efficiency, academics, staff satisfaction and reject left and right wing culture wars. |
Often, yes. What I’ve seen from this School Board is that their only heated debates have been over largely meaningless resolutions or policies where it became a matter of trying to outdo one another when it came to their commitment to equity. However, when it came to most matters, they were a pathetic echo chamber where members never bothered to challenge each others’ worst initiatives. Why would they want that to change? It must be fun to push your pet projects and screw over your own constituents with next to no accountability whatsoever from your colleagues. |
Agreed. Right wing people complain about culture wars while doing the same. |
