JSSA Offers Summer Workshop for Children: Handling Angry Feelings

Anonymous
JSSA (Jewish Social Service Agency), a non-sectarian provider, is offering "Handling Angry Feelings," a workshop in August for children ages 8-9 and 10-11.

Anger is a normal emotion, but it can be overwhelming for many children. In this workshop, children examine their "boiling points," practice self control, use "power talk" and positive self-talk instead of acting out, and complete an "anger contract" (with input from parents) to use outside the group.

Ages 8-9 meet Tuesdays, Aug. 4-18 from 4-5 p.m.

Ages 10-11 meet Thursdays, Aug. 6-20, 5-5 p.m.

Both groups meet at JSSA's 1-year-old Fallsgrove office, 200 Wood Hill Road, Rockville.

The group will be led by Dr. Stanley A. Fagen, PhD

Cost: $150 for the entire series.

Visit www.jssa.org for more information on this group and JSSA's other diverse services and programs for children, families and the aging.
