| Anybody have mid-price recommendations for hotels in/around Colorado Springs? Traveling with two young kids and having a tough time finding that midrange sweet spot. Not having luck on VRBO, either. |

| When are you going? How much are you willing to spend? We had a 2 bedroom suite at Staybridge Suites which was fine. |

What part of town and what type of room? I'm guessing the west side of 25 if you are sightseeing. You won't find lots of hotel type condos like you do in the ski towns. It's mostly just chains.
Summer is definitely the high season--tried to book a couple of nights at the Broadmoor for business and the cheapest room was $525 before taxes and fees! |

| I'm not sure what exact price range you are looking for, but last summer we stayed at The Mining Exchange and it was wonderful and surprisingly inexpensive. The rooms were huge (its an old bank that was just converted into a hotel), really high ceilings, big windows, and a very walkable location. The service was also outstanding. The sink was too high for my daughter to reach, and they quickly provided a step stool and just went out of their way the entire visit to make sure it was a good experience. I think we paid around $120/night, but it had just opened so its possible (maybe likely) that rates have gone up, but might be worth checking. |

| ^^the guy who owns the Mining Exchange is the one who bought and is renovating Antlers. Both are downtown with good access to tourist attractions. |

| OP here. Thanks for the responses. We'll be there in August. The wedding is at one of the big fancy resorts and we have to stay there with family for a few nights. We'll probably do the cog train, the zoo, and that kind of young-kid type activities. Maybe one a day with an afternoon rest and then back out for walking/dinner/ice cream. No huge hikes/walks. We were thinking a house-stay in Old COlorado City or Manitou Springs would give us a place to chill out after the kids go to sleep. Sharing one room, two beds for a week is tough but I'll call those hotels and see if a suite fits our price range. Thanks so much to everybody!! |

The Hampton Inn near world arena has suites and is nice, my parents stay there. It's pretty convenient to both the Broadmoor and Cheyenne Mountain Resort. |

| there is a great wolf lodge opening in Colorado Springs this summer. It's on the north side of town, closer to the Air Force Academy. |

| Manitou Springs is my favorite! More going on than Old Colorado City. It's a very hippie town, fun!! |
