Capital Futbol Club

I've seen this club mentioned a few times but without much detail. Could anyone comment on their travel program? How does it compare with DC Stoddert? We are interested for U10 boys. Thanks very much.

Great club. Fields three travel teams for current U10 boys now - two in NCSL and one ODSL. Lots of hard working kids on the teams.
www.capitalfc.org

Club is almost 6 years old and has grown from 4 to 22 teams in that time. Several national pool players from the club. Team partner is Celtic FC which is holding a camp this summer.

Any specific questions?

Where do you practice?
When you say national pool players, do you mean kids who have been called in to youth national team camps or are you talking about kids invited to local national training centers?

CFC parent of a U10 boy here. I don't know the answer to your question about the National pool players, but I can tell you that this spring we have two practices during the work week, one at Watkins Rec Center and the other at the new turf field at Randall Rec Center near South Cap and I St. SW. Then there's a Saturday futsal practice also at Watkins and a game is on Sunday (though last fall there was a mix of Sat and Sun games).

Our son really enjoys his teammates and coach, though the picture for next year is a little unclear given the age group re-shuffling. Tryouts are on Saturday, May 21st. You should definitely come check it out!

A number of CFC players have been selected for Virginia ODP teams.

One of CFC's longest players was selected for Super Y elite camp this winter - http://www.uslsoccer.com/news_article/show/639105?referrer_id=2333971

We are considering an offer from CFC for our DD. Any info on the girl's teams? So far, the people I've met have been nice and they seem to have good intentions but for the cost, I'm not sure if it's worth it. Would love to hear from others on their experience with the girls' teams. Seems very disorganized.

Kind of random... I met the woman who is responsible for "Admin" and registration, etc... I was quite turned off by her attitude and she doesn't seem very welcoming to families who are paying $$$ for their kids to participate in the club. I also understand that she is a girl's coach; which is very appealing to me because she has ZERO people skills.

Any insight???

DC was on a CFC team in its first year and we didn't love it but it was barely a club then. I see that Judah Cooks is now the technical director - he worked with DCs high school team for a couple of years and was great so that's a big plus.

What age is your DD? Mine did U10 this year and will do U11 next year. She had a great year and loved it. That being said, the key factor for us is convenience. There is no other option for travel soccer if you live on the Hill unless you want crazy commutes to practice . And want to play with friends. Yk I know the woman coach you are referring to; yes she is abrupt but the kids love her and have great fun. So, figure your priorities ?

The merger doesn't affect the girls. WSC had no girls teams. They haven't been very transparent about the merger or what it will mean for the club going forward.
