Blood clots and IVF treatment

Anonymous
I have been reading/researching about the increased risk of blood clots for women going through IUI/IVF treatment. It appears that this is mainly due to the use of estrogen/progesterone which causes higher levels of these hormones than getting pregnant naturally, and these hormones are linked to increased incidences of blood clots.

I'm concerned because my blood type puts me at increased risk for blood clots as it is. Did anyone experience a blood clot with infertility treatment? I've read the greatest risk is in the first trimester.

I'm concerned about taking the birth control pills as part of my IVF cycle--that increases blood clot risk, as I'm over 35.

I was somewhat concerned about the blood clot or stroke risk from all of these hormones, but my RE has me on baby aspirin and said that would mitigate some of the risk.

Blood clots are a risk because of the increased estrogen, which will also rise if you are pregnant.

I was hospitalized with OHSS for 4 days. Part of the concern was a blood clot and I was given blood thinner injections multiple times. I did not develop a blood clot.
