Alternatives for School choices if not accepted into Charter School after being waitlisted

Anonymous
Anyone's Charter or Speciality school wait list number going down?

Mine is however I don't think it will get low enough to be accepted. I am a single mom of one child who is entering Kindergarten this school year and completed worried about where she will end up in the fall. Our home school is not the best I use to work there so I know how it's run. Any advice on alternatives if she doesn't get into the first choice school.

OP here. I'll add that she was accepted into Cesar Chavez Elementary School however I declined the school because of the lack of after school care. I didn't feel comfortable with her having to take a school bus to a different location for care.

There is an option to request a transfer to an underenrolled school that usually opens soon.

I am in the same position. My child will be entering kindergarten, and she is on the waitlist also. I am really stressing out on where she will end up, (I don't like our local school). I also feel the same reservation about after care and being bused to a different location.

I'm glad to hear I am not the only one. Who knew this would be so stressful.
