My DH is almost 50 and has to pee in the middle of the night most nights, sometimes a couple of times.
His doctor (who is excellent and thorough) did not seem alarmed. Is this typical for anyone else? |
Yes. And I wish it was only a couple of times. Dr. did not seem alarmed also. |
Yes, since I was about 35. |
Yep enlarged prostate happens as men age. Getting old sucks |
at least once, usually 2x, sometime more. Started in my mid-40's. Now, if I ever turn over and wake up, I go to the bathroom, because it saves me waking up later.

Kegels. Great side benefits too. ![]() |
Nope. I'm 51 and still have not had that issue yet (knock on wood). I know it happens to a lot of guys our age, but not me yet. |
Just turned 50, and not yet. |
Yes, it's pretty common past 40 years of age |
I am 58 and don't. |
Yay...I slept through the night without having to Pee. And I woke up with normal blood sugar. Now of to take my 10 meds for breakfast....Mmmm...Lipitor.... |
Get his PSA checked. My dad was up at night a lot and the doctor wasn't phased. A couple of years later he was diagnosed with prostate cancer which, unfortunately in his case unlike most, is quite aggressive. |
Thanks for all the replies... especially the PSA one. |
53, at most once a night but not always. |
I don't think they do PSA's anymore. Or, they don't see it the same way anymore. http://www.cancer.gov/types/prostate/psa-fact-sheet |
