Shoes for walking commute/trip to Europe

Anonymous
I need a pair of comfortable shoes for my daily commute (approx. 20 minutes of walking each way). I have been wearing Uggs in the winter and flip flops in the summer, but I need something slightly more supportive. I also am taking a trip to Europe in June with my family, including two small children. I would like something comfortable and versatile but not ugly. I was thinking of something like these Puma flats - http://us.puma.com/en_US/pd/asha-alt-2-womens-slip-on-shoes/pna888534841739.html or these Supergas - http://www.zappos.com/superga-2750-cotu-classic~1. If anyone has any other ideas I would really appreciate it. Thanks.

I have supergas (and I am European!) and I find them really comfortable.
I also love fitlops but they are not exactly stylish

OP here. I just bought these online... but am not sure they're exactly what I'm looking for. http://www.zappos.com/asics-metrolyte-gem-black-onyx?PID=7876406&AID=11554337&utm_source=Time+Inc.&splash=none&utm_medium=affiliate Still open to other suggestions. Thanks!

In the past for summer travel I get Dankso sandals for comfortable all day walking. I have Superga's for closed toe comfort. If I'm at the beach then I bring a flip flop style shoe for ease on and off in the sand. I have also liked some of the Merrill, Puma light weight "glove" style shoe. Easy to fit in the suitcase and a nice footbed for all day walking- although my foot does sweat too much on hot days in closed toed shoes with socks which is why I like the dankso sandals. I try to get a lower heel sandal but not fully flat as I find on the cobblestones I can turn my ankles if its too high, but too low means I don't have enough cushion between my foot and the sidewalk. I also don't like a sandal that leaves my toes exposed - my kids always step on them or I stub them walking.

Those won't work in Europe.

I'm European and I'd recommend ballet flats, birkenstocks or converse. Definitely not those shoes with the elastics across the top or sneakers. Oh or those white adidas sneakers that literally everyone in London is wearing these days

They're not the most fashionable but if you want comfort look at Skechers Go Walk shoes. I wore them walking 25000+ steps/day traveling last summer and my feet never hurt. Easily the most comfortable shoes I've ever worn.

People just don't dress that like there. I wear my Tieks in Europe, and that's as casual as I get.

Can you please post pictures of types of sneakers women wear in Europe? Thank you.

I have these - http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B006QNQWBQ/ref=mp_s_a_1_8?qid=1461378144&sr=8-8&pi=AC_SX236_SY340_QL65&keywords=puma+zandy&dpPl=1&dpID=31B68G88AUL&ref=plSrch - in a few different colors and love them. Very comfortable and cute. I work a lot of conferences and am on my feet all day but still need something that can be stylish and paired with dressier clothes - these fit the bill.
