Is thar a good number? Just had my first u/s and that is what they said. Last time I dind't get the hb on my first u/s but at the second (8w) it was 147/minute and I miscarried 3 days later.
I would like to compare with someone pls - I am very anxious

That sounds good, totally normal to me. The heartrate at 8 weeks will be higher but for just over 6 weeks I think 124 sounds totally normal. I didn't have an u/s until 8 weeks so I can't compare, but I've read many people's posts over the years and 124 sounds very normal. I'm sorry about your loss...my first pregnancy ended in m/c at 8 weeks too. I know how hard it can be to relax in future pregnancies. I hope your anxiety lessens as your first tri passes by! Hang in there! |

At my 5w6d ultrasound the heartbeat was 102. I had another u/s at 9w1d and it was 186. I went to the ER a week later, at 10w and it was 171. I was told when it was 186 that was where it would top out and start to fluctuate. Remember, time of day, position (of baby and you), and things you eat will all make a difference in the heartbeat.
I too had an early loss, right at christmas time last year. It has made this pregnancy terrifying/nerve racking for me. I just entered my 2nd trimester (13w3d) and I am still nervous. I bought a heart beat doppler for the peace of mind of hearing the HB at home. Just out of curiosity, did your Dr. put you on progesterone supplements as a precaution since you have had an early loss? |
Op here: thanks for the answers I have another u/s scheduled to next Friday so we will see... PP I am on progesterone but it is because this pregnancy is a result from an IUI and they always tell us to use it until 8 weeks at Shady Grove. Last time I was on progesterone as well, and the loss was due to a chromossomal abnormality.

I did some google searching on this topic yesterday. Basically, although there's not much info out there, the one study I did find said that at 6 weeks, over 100 BPM is fine, and then around 7 or 8 weeks, they raised the good level to 120. There wasn't much of a discussion about being close to the edge (it just seemed to say if you're at or over, you're fine), which you're not anyway, since you're 124 and not even at week 7 or 8. The heart rates seem to vary a lot, even from week to week w/ the same baby. The only troubling stuff I read was from mom's who had babies with rates under 100 or even 90.
Also, I went to the ER over the weekend and had an u/s and the tech said they're just looking for anywhere from 100-170 at my point (6w3d, also .
