Online resources for kids with allergies

Anonymous
I just learned yesterday that my son has several food allergies. Are there any good online resources for food allergies? I'm aware of the Food Allergy & Anaphylaxis Network. I was hoping to find something that gave suggestions on meals for kids with certain types of allergies or an online community. Thanks.

Hang in there - when I found out my little one had allergies I was a little overwhelmed... but there are sooooo many substitutions out there and it made me make healthier food for him. Instead of using the Gerber 'frozen dinners' I made my own and froze them. If you don't mind - what allergies does your little one have? We use Smart Balance LIGHT, because our DS can't have diary - no real butter in there There are also a gazillion different susbstitutions for eggs in recipes... Good luck! We don't subscribe to the website you mentioned or the other one, but have found many things that DS loves... the first month is hard because you are looking at everything with a microscope it feels like, but after that you learn what you can get at what stores and it becomes easy. Also another favorite - tofutti - they have an ice cream sandwich and 'cream cheese' that is great! No diary!

I second the POFAKs site-it is great for ideas for meals and also dealing with daycare, family events etc. Good luck-you are not alone

beware of faan, we subscribed to newsletter etc. and find the whole service to be terribly disappointing - essentially a money-making enterprise.
