Sibling name for Caroline

Anonymous
Not sure if we are having a girl or boy but are starting to think of names for DC2. DD1's name is Caroline. Any ideas?

Girl list:
Cora
Colleen
Nora
Natalie

Boy list:
Carter
Connor
Delaney

For a girl, I like Nora. Eleanor nn Nora is my favorite but I think it's nice alone too.

For a boy, Carter and Connor are both nice. Only thing is then you are getting into all C names. Are you planning on a third?

Cora seems too similiar. I know it's not really, but that was my first impression. I think I like Natalie the best on your girl list.

I agree about the all "C" names. What about Dylan or Daniel for a boy?

Do you want additional suggestions or comments on your list? As PP pointed out, with Cora, Colleen, Carter and Connor, you're getting both C's, just something to note. How many syllables in last name?

Any classic name will go with Caroline. For girls:
Elizabeth
Sarah
Grace
Alice
Anna/Anne
Margaret
Victoria
Beatrice
Helen

I've always thought Delaney was a girls' name.

From your list I like Natalie best and either Connor or Daniel (as PP suggested instead of Delaney).

+1 the only Delaney I've know was a girl

I love Natalie, but I'd keep digging on the boys' names.

OP here ... Thanks for the replies!

We definitely want to go with a classic name nothing too unusual. We know if we go with a C for this baby's name then we will most likely end up going with a C for the rest of the kids (should we have more which we are planning on doing).

Keep the ideas coming!

Agree Cora is too similar and unless you're planning a family of "C" names, then I've avoid the other C names on the list and give each kid different initial.

Nora
Natalie
Elizabeth
Sarah
Alice
Anna/Anne

Daniel
Dylan
Grant
James
Matthew

I have siblings Caroline and Catherine, then my parents stopped with the C names.

OP here ... so to make things even harder both DH and I have names that start with a C. Coincidence for the two of us (obviously) but then we named DD with a C name. Now I feel like we either embrace it and go with all C's (which might be corny) or we have to stop with kid number 2.

Thanks! I really like Alice and Grant ... didn't think of those!

It has to be Elizabeth, for a girl. All girl names except Elizabeth and Caroline are

1. trashy
2. pretentious
3. trying too hard
4. too common

(pick one or more).
