I just read the stylist thread about places you can go to get fitted for a bra. Thanks!
Since having my first baby and breast feeding for nine months, I'm finding my old bras don't quite fit. I weaned 6 weeks ago - can I go get fitted or should I wait? I have lost all the baby weight so that is not a concern - don't anticipate any weight changes (hopefully). |
| I would wait. My breasts changed from when I weaned to about 6 months later. They were really deflated when I weaned, and filled out more after 6 months or so (and it wasn't due to weight gain. |
| You should go get one or two bras now and then wait to buy more. I am still nursing once or twice a day at 9 months, and I just got fitted for one bra. My nursing bras just weren't cutting it, and none of my old bras fit right. It feels FABULOUS to have the right size on, and, since I got a seemless underwire without any padding, the fabric stretches as I fill up during the day. This is basically what I do as I'm losing weight: I buy one nice pair of pants and one nice pair of jeans that fit me now. Then, when I lose weight, I buy one of each at the new, smaller size. You have to do more laundry, but I prefer to wear stuff that actually fits, and I get a lot of wear out of things. |

Thanks - good advice from both of you. I have one non-nursing bra that works, and I think I will just go buy one more, maybe without getting fitted, and wait a few months to get fitted and buy more.
I am relieved about the "deflated" thing - that is how I would describe my boobs now. I am hoping they will change a little in the next few months! I know my boobs will inevitably lose their luster as I age but I was hoping for a few more good years
