What's your definition of small, I guess?
We really like Harbor School. I think their K class is about 12 kids, with 2 teachers.

Grace Episcopal Day School has small class size and only one class per grade. It is in Kensington, on CT, right outside of Chevy Chase so very close to Bethesda.

We love Harbor and sought the school out for its focus on early childhood education. It is a bit of a commute for us but well worth it. The K class this year I think is about 14 kids and 2 teachers and the Junior Kindergarten class about 8 kids and 2 teachers. We looked into other schools that has "small" class sizes but found that they often only had one primary teacher, which can make a big difference at the Kindergarten class level.

Are you just looking for kindergarten or considering staying until a certain grade? Are you considering parochial schools?

The 2-teacher model, even for very small classes, is a huge point in Harbor's favor.
