I just lol’ed. |
How is Saint Stephen of Hungary School generally? Haven't heard much about it. |
I am not affiliated with the school. When I was researching, they were a blue ribbon school with exmissions to 2T private school and occasionally a TT private school. I was considering sending my child for preschool and aiming for public City Wide / District G&T schools starting at K. You don't need a teacher recommendation if the child is entering public school at K. You just need a good lottery number. |
I know someone who ultimately chose an all girls school over Dalton. So it does happen. |
I am the person who posted this. I can not compare the parent body to any other school because All Soul is the only school my child has been to. But I am not ultra wealthy or well connected or even from NYC originally, and I find most of the parents very kind and welcoming. Are there some parents who are famous, well connected and ultra rich? Yes. But there are just as many "regular" parents, if not more. There are lots of ways to get involved in the school as a parent and lots of events etc. I have felt very welcome here through our years. |
Which one did you end up picking? What group was it for Episcopal? |
I have heard this too. Can anyone confirm if MAPCDS filled their spots prior to the deadline? |
| Which of the top-tier preschools usually have second-round application after March 5? |
Maybe there would be an afternoon spot somewhere because afternoons are harder to fill. Or maybe someone moves and a spot opens this summer. |

Which k-12 or k-8 schools does each of the following preschools feed to?
I heard some people say STMPG feeds to St David and Sacred Heart? What about 92NY, Episcopal, Brick, MAPCDS, All Souls, Christ Church, Park Children’s Day, West Side Montessori… Which k-12 or k-8 schools does each of these preschools listed here feed to? |
WSMS hasn’t gotten any kids into Hunter in the past several years and these other stats also are inflated. |
Don’t know if this is true but if it is exmissions at CCDS would be way better than at 92NY. 92NY is definitely sending a lot of kids to lower tier schools this year. It was a tough exmissions year. |
That’s about right. 1 is going to Spence. 2 to Trinity. 3 to Collegiate. |
In the past few years Brick has had the best exmissions, including for unconnected. When the new head joined the results really jumped. |

I think a lot of the popular preschools start at 2's. And most of the kids enter when they are 2 or 3 years old.
What are the chances to get into any of the top tier preschools at 4's? Do most, if not all kids from 3's just move up to 4's, and usually no spots for new kids at 4's? Which top tier preschool usually have spots for new families at 4's? |
