SG Shared Risk Criteria?

Can anyone give me the top line facts on what it takes to qualify for Shady Grove's shared risk plan? Age (under X age)? FSH number (under X number)? previous pregnancy? etc thanks.

There is info on their website. I think you have to be able to finish all 6 cycles before turning 39 (so my friend who is 38 was told she is too old). I don't think there are strict rules for FSH -- I'm under the impressiont that they plug your stats into their computer model and then make a decision. I am 32 have an FSH of around 10 and was told by Dr Wildra that as long as I had one follicle that I'd be accepted into shared risk. I know other people with multiple problems who got in too - but they were under 35. Hope that helps. Good luck!!!

Another question to the shared risk....does anyone know if they'll still accept you if you have 3 failed IVF's under your belt? Our insurance covers 3 attempts and I was just curious if we could still do the shared risk if they all fail. We have normal numbers and are just unexplained at the moment at age 34.

Your BMI must be under 40. If it isn't and you can lose the weight, they will accept you.

No, they generally won't accept you once you have 2-3 prior failed IVFs.
I am youngish as well (34) and had a successful IVF pregnancy at age 31 and then a failed FET at age 33. We were looking into shared risk this year and with otherwise normal numbers our doctor said we could possibly fail one more cycle and still qualify. Two more failures would bump us out of being eligible for the program. This is despite having a success on cycle one (which adds points in our favor).
Ultimately, SG wants to do shared risk on patients who have a very good chance of getting pregnant in a few cycles. They loose money if you do more than 3 shared risk cycles.

We ended up getting pregnant on fresh cycle #2 (out of 3 that our insurance paid for). Had it not worked, we would have likely given up our insurance coverage for try #3 and entered shared risk while we were still eligible.

14:18 thanks for the info. I guess if this 1st IVF attempt does not work I need to sit down with my RE and discuss thoroughly what the best option would be. I feel like it has taken more than 3 attempts for some women....so if we have to give up the last cycle thats covered by insurance to get 6 additional fresh cycles I think it would be worth it. I also understand that there are unlimited FET in their shared risk program....

I did Shared Risk IVF at SG. I am 37, overweight and had completed about 8 iui cycles with SG with one miscarriage and a couple early chemicals. I think my numbers were fairly normal. Dr. Chang said I would be accepted no problem, and I was. I got pg on my first cycle and am due in August.

Talk to your doc and he/she should tell you if they think you will qualify. I wish you lots of luck.
