Most irritating coworker habits

New guy hums a lot. HMMMM hmmm hm.

Having his headset turned up so loud and so close to his mouth on conference calls I can hear his phlegm. Blech!

I'm pregnant and my coworker eats sardines daily. He washes the tin out in the kitchen sink. I threw up violently all over the kitchen the first time I went to wash a cup out after he'd done this. The smell was just repulsive.

The co-worker who on calls and in meeting will go on for 15 minutes about an issue and then close with "...but we do not need to discuss that now."

The partner who clips his nails at his desk. I sit right outside your office - I see AND hear you.

And the coworker who sits next to me who I like, flosses her teeth at her desk.

I can't believe people think its ok to clip their nails in public!!!!

One guy vapes constantly. Always leaving the room to go vape outside

Being on speaker phone (and talking) when it's just you. If you are in a conference room, with a bunch of people, sure. If it's just you and you're not just listening and on mute, pick up the phone!

Co-worker who sniffs really loudly! So gross. I actually dry heaves from him.

I also hate when people cannot control their anger. I had two coworkers screaming at each other. I also had a CEO once who punched my co-worker. It's like get a grip folks!!

And the goes on for 15 more mins, while every 5 minutes or so saying "maybe we should take this off line". 30 minutes later...

finger drumming

constant heavy sighing

constant yawning

sipping coffee really loudly, every single sip even though surely it has cooled after the initial few sips?

The co-worker who burps and farts (loudly) all day long.

Fish in the microwave. Just gross. The smell lingers all day.

I don't know what field you work in, but to me, screaming at work is unprofessional (I work in a law firm). I've seen people get in fights and get told to quiet down or go outside. It's just not acceptable behavior.

+1

It is unprofessional to use speaker phone. There are also some people that way till the other person picks up (or voicemail) before picking up the phone. Get a headset!
