Infertility Support and Discussion
A friend of mine said she was told by her RE to stop exercising while trying to conceive. I haven't been to an RE yet, but both my OB and MFM told me that exercise was beneficial since it helps control stress. Thoughts? What about strength training?
i think they're referring to extreme exercise -- marathon training, for example, not just regular running. i'm a runner so that's how i would take that advice.....(and i run marathons so i would stop the marathon training but continue to run 5/6 miles at a time).

If you don't have fertility problems then continuing your regular exercise, assuming as PP says it is not extreme, is fine.
If you do have fertility problems, my RE told me that one study showed that exercising more than 4 hours per week could reduce your chances. |
I ran 8 miles a day instead of 10 up until the 3rd day of stimming and am now pregnant with twins.
My RE was a huge fan of exercise. I thought I should give it up b/c it meant I slept less, no, reducing stress was the most important. I ran 10 - 15 miles a week plus did strength testing. Your friend might have a different situation than you, or is referring to a different point in the process. When I did some testing, after pg, I had to stop for a couple of days after the procedure.
