Endometrin Rectally?

Anonymous
Has anyone else been asked to do this? This is my first day of using four (100mg) tablets in the morning and four in the evening and...OUCH! Sorry is this is TMI, but is there an easier way to get them up there? It's even more sore than the shots (and hard to sit down!)

Why can't they go vaginally? Is it because there are so many? I am doing 2 in the a.m., 2 in the p.m. vaginally.

Can you use lube or something?

I am looking over the paper insert and it specifically says it is for vaginally use only...

There is no way these were meant to be taken rectally. They are vaginal suppositories. Use them like a tampon.

Put them in your vag!!!

Did you doctor increase the dosage after you started Endometrin because your levels weren't rising? It's possible it wasn't working because you weren't using it correctly. You should call your doctor to see you should go back to a lower dosage when you use them vaginally.

OP, I think you are mistaken. Please check with your doctor or nurse.

I think OP is not real. Someone just trying to get a reaction. He or she succeeded.

OP here. I'm real. I promise. I wouldn't joke about this. I used them for the first time this morning - 400 mg. I googled it a bit too, and apparently it's not totally unheard of to use this way, but it's still a bit of a shocker to me. I'm at a clinic in Barbados and they're closed for the weekend (well, you can call the main hospital and have them page the Dr. if it's an emergency, but I don't know if this warrants). It just seemed a little strange to me, and I'm not sure I'm doing the right thing.

Can you email the doctor directly? Maybe it will go to his/her phone. You are paying a lot of money and don't want to mess up the process, so I'd say feel free to have the hospital page the doctor. It is in the doc's best interest to have your treatment go well, too.
