Fields Road Elementary

Anonymous
Does anyone have feedback on Fields Road Elementary? The Great Schools ranking is low, but it also appears to have a high proportion of special needs students, perhaps accounting for lower test scores. Any experiences?

No first hand experience, but I know 2 different families who moved specifically to avoid sending their kids to Fields Rd.
High % of ESOL kids from surrounding apt complexes was one concern cited.

"High percentage" = 21.5%. Good grief. My kid goes to an elementary school with 16% ESOL, and disaster has not happened.

OP, do a search on DCUM. There have been some recent threads with posts from people who actually had useful, first-hand information.

Yikes, can't be around apartment kids! 20% is not a "high percentage" of ESOL students.

I have friends who kids went there for a couple years (they moved away) and I never heard any complaints. Their class sizes were much lower than our ES in MCPS.

I have friends that love it there.
