| Who have you used to have windows replaced that you would recommend? How much is a new window (on average) including installation? |

Today we are having Interstate composite windows being installed by Quality Windows and Doors. The windows are composite and overlaid with wood on the inside to mimic a full wood window. We looked at Pella lower line wood with aluminum clad, Zen windows vinyl, Window World vinyl, Weathershield Custom Shield and Andersen wood series sold at Home Depot. Window World had the least expensive price at about $4500 for eleven windows including installation, but I did not like the quality at all. Pella wood was more expensive than the Interstate composite, and we would have gone with that except that the salesperson was annoying and gave such a hard sell. We ended up going with the composite pine wood veneer clad inside.
7 31X62 inch windows and 4 31X42 inch windows cost $10,500 with no grids on the bottom and six grids of simulated divided lights on top. As I said they are being installed right now so waiting to see the results. |

We just bought a house and got a number of quotes ranging from 11.5K to 4K for 7 windows (6 double hung with muntin(bars to look like panes) between the glass and 1 small slider window)... including installation. We also looked at new construction windows and hiring our own contractor... And prices were just as varied. After varying sales pitches, some educational, others high pressure/buy today, we decided we liked Windows on Washington the best. We think the quality is on the high end (they use Okna) but the price was more reasonable... Just over $5k including dealing with the lead based paint... Our house was built in 1962). Some of the reps didn't even mention dealing with that. The rep, Greg, from WoW was great and he was willing to work with us on our timeline. They haven't done the installation yet, but I'll update on how it goes.
