August Camps for campers entering grades 3-5 at the National Building Museum

WORLDLY BUILDERS: July 27-August 7, 2009
Take a trip to three regions around the world to explore their structures and cultures without ever leaving DC. Through hands on activities, discover what makes Russia, Greece and Alaska "green", aesthetically pleasing, and exciting. Special guest artists and arctictects, field trips, and design educators will help inform these young designers to re-create and re-imagine the structures and traditions that make these regions special.

YOUNG DESIGNERS: August 10-21, 2009
What makes D.C. a great U.S. capital? Using visual art, photography, storytelling, and building arts activities, re-design a new capital that celebrates the ideas and diversity of young people today! Create and curate your own "gallery opening" for families to attend based on your ideas for a capital city of the future.

CAMP HOURS: 9:00 am -3:00 pm. Early drop-off at 8:30 am. Extended care available from 3:00-5:30 pm.
