For some reason after a number of page loads I start to get a beachball. I go to the activity monitor and I can see that the process handling the DCUM tab is consuming gigabytes of memory. I kill the process, and everything is fine. But several pages in, the same thing happens. I feel like it is something with the ad serving.
Any ideas? |
I get the beachball sometimes using the site, but not on a regular basis as you describe. I suggest going into the Safari preferences, going to the Security tab, then Plug-in Settings and blocking the Adobe Flash plugin for www.dcurbanmom.com. I suspect that Flash is the problem here.

I started having the same problem just a few days ago. I can read DCUM on my phone just fine but my Mac can barely even load after a couple of clicks. Will try what you posted above. |
Thanks. I had already blocked Flash, but I blocked some other plugins just to see if that helped. I will report back if I find anything interesting. |
How do you do this in Chrome? |
I have been playing around with this for some time. Each time I load a page on the site, the memory consumption for the dcurbanmom.com process goes up. It is acting like a program with a memory leak. But I cannot replicate it on any other site. |
I have never had the issue in the OP's post. |
OP here. I am on OS X El Capitan using Safari 9.0.3 for reference.
I just opened the web inspector for this page load and I can see 197 blocked frame errors. An example is listed below. Also when I look at the resources, there is an about:blank resource that looks like it has nested within it other about:blank resources that go on and on as far as I drill down. This suggests there may be some sort of error in the code that places the ads in their frames. Blocked a frame with origin "http://tpc.googlesyndication.com" from accessing a frame with origin "http://www.dcurbanmom.com". Protocols, domains, and ports must match. I thought it was just me. My work doesn't allow Adobe Flash so anytime an ad that uses flash comes on, my DCUM crashes. But maybe it's not flash then? |
OP here I turned off flash for drum but it did not help. |
