Driveway ground over dilemma

I have two concrete parking strips for my driveway. On either side of the strips and in between their was originally grass. I think this worked for the previous owners who drove their cars to work and so the grass got sunlight. But we take the Metro and the cars park in the driveway most days. Now all the grass is dead and there is a strip of dirt that gets muddy, erodes and occasionally grows weeds. Any suggestions for a ground cover that can survive this? Or should I get gravel?

Asphalt works well.

I would do gravel or just pave over. I don't think anything will grow well in such dense shade.

I wouldn't do gravel. Look into permeable pavers:

Even if you don't drive your car much, it helps absorb rain water/run off without getting muddy.

OP here. I feel strange paving over because the house originally had a fully paved driveway and the people we bought from ripped it out and put in the parking strips. I'll look into the pacers. But the consensus is that nothing will grow?

Not unless you want it to. The thread I linked to had info sheet from the HoCo Master Gardeners:

It shows the different kind of permeable pavers. Some look more like asphalt. Others are meant to have the grass growing out of them.
