Infertility Support and Discussion
|
I went through IVF about a year and a half ago (and now have a beautiful DD!) so I had all the "training" on the injections. A good friend asked me to give her her trigger shot IM and I'm looking for "refresher" instructions/tips online. My husband gave me mine and I remember there was a trick about putting the thumb on the pants pocket and the shot was going to go in the "groove" of the thumb and finger. Does anyone have a recommendation for a good site that would be helpful in giving other "tips" so I'm totally comfortable. Fortunately, my friend will likely be MUCH calmer about it than I was! I remember that I was a mess....crying and terrified at the size of the needle....but was pleasantly surprised that I barely felt it!
Helping several friends through this process certainly brings back memories of how challenging that roller coaster was! I had a wonderful friend who went through it before me and was an amazing resource and support. I'm glad I have the opportunity to return the favor. |

Depending on which medication you are injecting, try one of these sites. They have video instructions for each injectible medication. Good luck!

| You can go to youtube.com and watch a bunch of people get all the various shots. I liked seeing how various "real" people got the shots and it is gave me confidence-- if they could do it, so could I. Good Luck! |
| at Columbia Fertility you can pay the nurse $50 to come to your house -- whenever they determine you need the shot (for me it was 9 pm on a sunday) and she'll administer it. it was so easy and totally worth the 50 bucks, i highly recommend it -- alleviated a ton of stress for me. |

I did the PIO shots by myself. I just iced my buttox for 5 minutes and jabbed. It's much easier than you think. Seriously.....
I just hope you're not afriad of needles. |
| I did most of the shots myself but if your friend whats you to helpyou can likely go into the office w/ (or w/o ) her and get feedback from a nurse in the office. |
