Jeff, What is your opinion on threads that are titled specifically (fill in the blanks), "(position name) at (X school)"?
I've seen a lot of these threads. They don't identify the person by name, but when there is exactly one person in that position, it is clear who is being named/referred to. |
The first thing that matters is what is being said. I normally take the position that you can say anything good about a person. If what is being written is negative, it is probably a good idea to report the message. Otherwise, I probably will not know about it. If you do report the message and there is only one person in that position, it is important to let me know or I probably won't realize that is the case. Finally, I'll make a judgement call based on the type of criticism.
So, for example, "my child at school x has a math teacher that assigns too much homework" I would let go because it would be my assumption that there is more than one math teacher and none of the teachers would be devastated by the allegation. On the other hand, "the girls soccer coach at school x is a sex offender" would be removed for obvious reasons. |
