DH insists on playing music all the time at home

Anonymous
Drives me insane. I love music but not all the time. Anyone else have this issue?

I listen to news radio. My poor dh. It could be worse, op!

That would be very, very, very annoying to me, and I would never leave my bedroom.

It could be worse OP. The soundtrack from "Whining Child" played at my house all day today.

I'd rather music than the science channel ALL DAY LONG.

Why did you put up with that all day?

Can it be limited to some room in the house? That way you can escape. I play music in the kitchen on weekends. I use a Bose Soundlink mini speaker, so it's near me, great sound, and not blasting out the rest of the house.

We have the radio on from the time we wake up until we go to bed. Somehow, we still find the time to connect and be a normal couple. Of course, we don't watch TV half the day like other people do.

When I do housework, I crank it up.

I would hate the silence. To each their own.

Everything in moderation.

I love NPR radio, and classical music, and also silence, to enjoy the birdsong right in my backyard.

OP you talk to much! ;p

I jest, but really give him a pair of hifi Bluetooth headphones and let him rock out.

Anecdotally, I like listening to music more when I have a lot of mental static, is it possible he is suffering from anxiety about something?

I listen to NPR nonstop and DH plays music. Not a big deal.

What kind of music?
How loud?
Ages of children, and how does it affect them?
Does he care?

Yes! My husband played music all day long, all of the time. Most of the time I loved it, sometimes not as much and then he would just play it in his den or turn it down.

Mine listens to music all the time, too. When he's not, he has the Science channel on! Or that channel that has show after show of guys eating gross food. And we both work at home.

I like silence when I'm trying to think, so when his music is bugging me, I just ask him to turn it down or put on headphones, or take it to another room and shut the door.
