Are the engagement rings or wedding bands worth the cost of the mark up for the name?
Who has a Tiffany and Co. engagement ring that wears it regularly? Would money be better spent buying a Tiffany style ring with a nicer stone and less expensive? 1.22 F VS1 Tiffany and Co. = $18,900 1.22 F VS1 Other jewelers = $10,503 |
| OMG no. |
| Oh my. You need to figure out a whole bunch of things that include the cost of branding the the reputation of the competitors. |
| OP. Honest question because I have lots of Tiffany pieces and I love their collection but when it comes to the rings, I have a much harder time justifying the cost difference for something similar elsewhere. Especially since Tiffany doesn't offer a GIA cert, just in-house cert. which the customer is expected to take for accuracy. |

The short answer is: No, it's not worth it. You can get MUCH better for your money, across the "c's" by shopping elsewhere. |

A Tiffany design will hold up. A solitaire? No way. |

First, read around on pricescope.com
Then, go to James Allen. Or Tiffany. But only with more knowledge. |
| Do not buy at Tiffany...get a bigger stone...the ring gets smaller as you age! |
| Well the one plus about Tiffany is that you will have an easier time reselling than other brands. |
Yeah. The retained value makes it not a completely stupid choice. I personally would still choose a high HCA round for that purpose though. |
| Not looking to resell the diamond or the bands. If there are kids, the rings would be passed on. |
Instead of investing in a Tiffany setting, I'd invest in a better (not necessarily bigger) stone. |
| I have a Tiffany wedding band. It still looks like new after 10 years. I love the feel of the gold. I'm not a jewelry expert by any means, but it's easily my favorite piece of jewelry to wear. |
yeah well everyone goes in thinking that

The feel of the gold?? |
