Where is my DC tax return?

| Filed in January. DC proceeded to mail a form requesting identity verification documentation, which I turned around in under 2 days. That was in February. Now I'm sitting here wondering where the f**k my tax return is, with not a peep from DC that they received my documentation. The status checker on the website has said the same thing since I filed in January. Every time I try to call the help number it says "all lines are busy, please try back again," and disconnects me. They don't even have a hold system!? DC is a third world country. |

We filed in early Feb and got the refund a week later. Definitely call.

I'm in a similar situation. Filed at end of January. Then got the letter that they needed additional identity verification. Mailed that in on Feb 11.
Called on Feb 23. They couldn't tell me anything, couldn't tell me if they've received the additional info I sent. Only told me to expect that it would take 4-6 weeks from them getting the additional information. Online status says the same message everyday, that was received on Jan 25th and to try again in 7-10 days. |

Just FYI, as I learned last year, if something is missing with your returns they won't bother to let you know. I eventually called and was told that one form was missing. Had I not called, I would have never known. As it turned out, the error was entirely on my part. But, it would have been nice to have been notified.

OP here. This is my exact situation (however, I've been unable to get in contact with them). "All of our lines are busy, please try your call again later [DIALTONE]." I feel like I am being scammed. |

OP again. To add on to it all, I am concerned that copies of my sensitive documents were misplaced. Sometimes, living in DC takes me back to my days as a resident of New Orleans. |

| I always file our taxes by certified mail, never E-file. We got our refund within three weeks. I have been filing DC taxes for over 20 years and can't recall having an issue. The Office of Tax and Revenue is generally very efficient. You should call. |

| I had the same issue last year. I was living overseas and would usually give up waiting on the phone after about 15 mins for a rep. I stopped by DC OTR in SW in July. They couldn't figure out why my return was withheld. I received it 7 days later.smh |
