Is it wrong for a young man to date a much older woman?

Is it wrong for a guy in his 20s to date a woman in her 40s?

Wrong by who's standards?

If there's genuine love involved then you shouldn't care what anyone else thinks. Love is love, as long as we're not talking under 21 then worry not!

my aunt is dating a 30ish guy and she's in her 60s! but looks like she's in her 40s! No one likes him because he doesn't work and is basically mothered by my aunt who has more than he does. However he is very affectionate, cooks for her, and they are both inseparable. I wish she could find someone closer to her age who genuinely loves her and has a job

pp here i also find that a lot of young guys nowadays actively and purposefully seek out cougars or women older than they so they won't work or have to be maintained by them! I would advise women to say they work a mediocre or menial job and only earn 20k a year and see if the guy is still attracted! for women of all ages! guys are golddiggers too

Define wrong. It's not illegal, so who cares.

A lot of guys are fine with gold-diggers because they're young and hot, and so you get to have a lot of sex with a young hot person. Why shouldn't women want that too?

Probably a better piece of ass than my dad, that's for sure. Old guys are limp dicks.

+1,000

They use their MONEY to make up for the fact they can't get it up anymore!

What's worse....older men (talking 50+) with limp dicks and no career/no house (living with their ex- still in some cases because they can't afford their own!) chasing women who HAVE money to use them as their retirement plan!

Gold digging works both ways! IF the woman wants to pay for that limp dick dude for company, that's on HER! Same thing if a man wants to pay for a woman who doesn't want to work and live off his money and can only look pretty for the camera, that's on HIM!

Equal opportunity!

She's a sugar mama. Gotta pay for those sugar babies. It's only fair.

My brother-in-law's wife is 15 years older than him. They are perfect for one another, and she is exactly what he needed and vice versa. When they were dating, the only person he told her true age was me, because they were both so nervous people would judge them for it (especially family, i.e. his mom). She is not the cougar type at all – he's a professor and she's an ER nurse. He is very shy, and she is outgoing and funny and it's great seeing them so in love with one another and in it for the long haul. The only thing he may have possibly "given up" by being with her is not having children, but they discussed that very early on. FWIW, they are a great aunt and uncle to our children.

If she is willing to pay for his company, that's on HER, she cannot complain when he leaves her for a younger model that can afford him!

There are a lot of man-children running around the DC area, don't get it twisted!

For every man that makes 100k there are 100 men that only make 50k (or less!) and can't even get an apartment without the financial assistance of a woman! ($1500+ for a decent 1 bedroom around here- and guess what 36 times $1500= $54k- they dont even make enough to qualify for said apartment!) Those that have been divorced and paying child support or alimony, especially!

Those men are looking for a meal ticket to "make up for" the loss of income paying their ex-spouses....or even if they were never married, they simply find it difficult to afford life making <50k in the DC area...so look for a woman making a high salary to make it out here.

Plus- if a man is making 100k he doesn't NEED a woman to survive- so has the time to run through many "options" until he finds one he can live with and marry. Of course the golddigger woman are chasing the few 100k+ salary men since there are so few in the area. Usually they end up with the "pure" women as discussed on other threads on this board to look good to "society".

Then (if) he divorces her, she takes half, he is now making 100k on paper but due to child support/alimony so is down to 50k take home, then goes out and finds a high-salaried woman the next time around.... or simply cheats on his "pure" wife because she won't give up the goods.....it's a vicious cycle!

I wasted my youth and if I were single in my 40's I'd feel like I made up for lost time if I could get a guy in his 20's. As long as there weren't a weird mother-son vibe going on, I think it could be fine. I don't know how long term of a relationship that would be though with such an age gap. Look at Demi Moore and Ashton Kutcher. Once the woman hits menopause I'm pretty sure the guy will lose interest and find someone more his age.

They're both of legal age.
If they're not immediate relatives, no problem.
