I had my egg retrieval 9 days ago but they only aspirated follicles and found eggs on my left ovary. For lining issues, we did a freeze-all and are waiting for an FET. Fast forward to today and I have been nauseous off and on since breakfast. I thought I had a stomach bug coming on. Then this evening, I started having flutters and pains in my uterus and in the area of my right ovary. Also - even after stopping all drugs, I have had major breast soreness from retrieval until yesterday. Dr. Google says nausea, abdominal pain, and breast soreness are symptoms of ovarian cysts.
Has anyone had cysts or follicles keep growing after retrieval? Should I be sounding the alarm? Since the ovary twinges started my nausea has actually improved and this morning, my breasts were noticeable better. Maybe this is just the completion of the meds cycling out of my system. Thoughts? |
Those symptoms could mean different things, I wouldn't jump to assuming cysts. But, it couldn't hurt to get an ultrasound and check things out. Did they give you an explanation for why they were only able to retrieve from one ovary?
OP. There were no follicles on the right side from the beginning. I had very few on the left. I am now wondering if a small follicle on the right got unnoticed and left behind. Yes - total speculation. Has anyone heard of that happening?
Any chance at all that your pregnant?
Haha. No. I wish. I have a pair of freshly frozen embryos, but it would have to be a Biblical sized miracle for me to be pregnant right now!
Wow, that's awesome you wound up with two frozen despite a tough start! It seems really unlikely to me they would miss a follicle and it would grow enough in the interim to cause you pain.
I had a cyst after my last retrieval. They found it when I was prepping for my FET. My doctor thought it was just fluid filled, and it went away on its own.
Thanks everyone. It turns out it was UNBELIEVABLE PMS. Wow - hard core cramps and pain.
I have similar case. But I do have cyst cause the egg retrieval. I had a lot of eggs and now my Fet is delay due to the cyst on my ovarian. The doctor said to go back on birth control for another 3 weeks, so annoying. But I feel cramps when I am on the pill. And they say either wait a month and pray to go away or 3 weeks on birth control. But both cases I don’t know which will help more. Should I drink the birth control or no?! I am so confused. If I know that they will go away without the pill I’ll do it. And on the same side the birth control may speed the proceed, but I am in pain. Help. What do you suggest?
