Big Beautiful Bill

Here’s the thing though. It’s a terrible bill and will especially hurt rural Americans in red states. But this is what they voted for and there is a GOP majority in all branches. So it may be the quickest (albeit painful) way to get past the shibboleth that the GOP is fiscally responsible and that MAGA is the party of middle America.

She’ll be “very concerned” but still vote yes.

Republicans are worried that kicking millions of people off Medicaid will cause rural hospitals to close. So they are proposing a rural hospital bailout fund instead. This seems really dumb.

I’m so bitter at Mainers for voting for this woman. She stands for nothing.

Fwiw, she's one of the appropriate is and is very opposed to impoundment. If she can convince other Republicans to also oppose impoundment, she'll be fighting the good fight.

We already have this. It is called "Medicare"

Republicans will vote for whatever Trump wants, despite any reservations they have. The rare few who vote against are allowed to do so because passage is assured.

Surely everyone understands this by now.

Of course. The question is why the media continues to chase after “the holdouts” like it’s a real thing.

But once this bill passes, the country will get to experience what GOP governing does for people’s lives. FAFO.

I think the Parliamentary just found that cutting the Medicaid funding in the BBB violates the Act and it has to be stripped out to avoid a regular vote of sixty opposed to the desired majority for passage.

The Senate GOP has zero members who care about SALT so I don’t have high hopes about this.

I fully expect Congress to restore Medicaid funding before any cuts take effect. Republicans need these fake spending reductions to get enough votes to pass tax cuts. In a few years pro-Medicaid Republicans will work with Democrats to reverse any cuts to Medicaid.
