It reminded me of the picture of Tump with the orphaned infant from the El Paso shooting, standing there smiling and giving a thumbs up next to a baby who lost both parents to yet another mass shooting. I mean, how callous and unfeeling must a person be, that that is his standard response when confronted with grief?

The families were smiling too. They appeared glad that he took the time to be there while Joe and Kamala were at the beach.

The group took video and photographs that included a ridiculous thumbs-up gesture, not only behind Hoover’s grave but also the grave next to his, that of Phoenix-born Master Sgt. Andrew “Andy” Marckesano, a Green Beret and Silver Star recipient who died by suicide in 2020.

Sgt. Marckesano’s sister told The New York Times that she supports the Hoover’s family “quest for answers and accountability” over the incident that killed their loved one, but added, “However, according to our conversation with Arlington National Cemetery, the Trump campaign staffers did not adhere to the rules that were set in place for this visit to Staff Sergeant Hoover’s gravesite in Section 60, which lays directly next to my brother’s grave.

“We hope that those visiting this sacred site understand that these were real people who sacrificed for our freedom and that they are honored and respected accordingly.”

So does the family of Sgt. Marckesano not count? When including THAT headstone in the pic was an explicit violation of cemetery rules (for some reason their site is coming up with a black overlay tonight or I would copy what I read on there a few days ago)

If you are visiting a grave as a private memorial service you may take photos ONLY of that grave(or graves), NOT of other headstones.

So that family, who did nothing to bring on this debacle, got pulled in anyway.
