School capital campaign

Is it common for area independent schools to have parents reach out to other parents for fundraising campaigns -- in this case, large donations in excess of $50k -- or does your head of school or development office do the ask? I'm somewhat uncomfortable discussing ability to give with other parents.

It's very common. For many people a peer to peer ask is the most effective. However, if you'd rather have the conversation with a member of the Development Office staff instead, just politely say so. They should be more than happy to oblige.
