I'm so bad at choosing area rugs! What matches this colorful girls' bedding?

My daughter has this bedding which we love, but because it's so bright (almost neon), I'm having a hard time deciding what kind of area rug to match with it.

Obviously a white or very light colored rug and a messy toddler do not mix! But I don't know what to choose that's a good combination of durable and not too clashy with her the bedding. She has the sheets pictured above with the matching bright pink comforter. Help?

Keep it simple - go neutral. I'm thinking a nice denim blue - although a girl room - its a comfortable color and easy to build on - or go with a simple pattern on pattern white/beige. It's fun - no stress. Look at Pottery Barn for kids - great choices - what does garnet hill show as complementary colors?

in Grenada, Neapolitan, or maybe Stone Soup (not my favorite but if you preferred something like a little more muted)

Agree with the PP who suggested an aqua rug.

Thanks for all of these recommendations! (This is OP).

I love the Dash & Albert ones but need a large size and am just not sure I want to spend so much. Also, I should have mentioned, we have hardwood floors so I need to get a rather large rug (at least 8x10 I think). I like the idea of shag as a small accent next to the bed, but I worried a really big area of shag would be too much?

I don't know...I'm bad at this!

We have shags in two our our bedrooms and love them. The only negative which is why I got a new one for my son's room is small toys get lost in it like legos. Loved it when he was a toddler.

Lime green.

Check out flor. I bet they have something that would work, even close to the dash and Albert.

Nah, a big shag will be fine.

I totally agree! The website suggested OP's bedding to be paired with it to me!

I would do lime green or aqua.
