Coworker and I previously had a good working relationship. We work in separate departments but cross paths regularly. Recently he sent me an unreasonable request. Before saying no outright, I brought the request to my supervisor, who said no way, we aren't doing that.
I relayed the message to coworker. What did he do? Contacted my boss to tattle on me and say I'm not doing my job. What do I say to him next time I see him? He is slightly senior to me, but not much. It bothers me that he went straight to my boss and didn't bother discussing things with me directly. |
| Is your supervisor and your boss the same person? Honestly, let your boss back you up and pull your supervisor into the fold if s/he is not the same person. After that, ignore the complaint and move forward. If you want, you can ask him to come to you in the future with similar problems before tattling. |
| You just smile slightly. He's a baby. |
| Work to the letter of the law with him, but do not be friendly. He just tried to fuck you over. |
| You say, " hey what gives? You know that was unreasonable." Don't ignore or he'll do it again. People need to be called out on their stupidness |
Yes. I hope your supervisor and boss are the same people and this realizes he has fucked up. How did you learn that he went to his supervisor? |
