Great water parks

Anonymous
I'm looking for advice about great water parks within driving distance. We've been to Great Wolf Lodge, and the kids loved it. Preferably a place with a lot of open slides (meaning not the tube slides) and a wave pool.

/There are three open slides at Massanutten and an outdoor wave pool (after mem. day). There is also a big "lazy river" == that is fine for kids of all ages (assuming they are 40 in. tall or with a parent).

Water Country?

Do you mean the big commercial ones?
VA has smaller water parks, check here: http://www.nvrpa.org/
MD doesn't have much of the state run water parks.

are there any nicer ones? we went to the one down by Busch Gardens and it seemed really...trashy. sorry, don't know a nicer way of putting it. anywhere on the east coast would work.

OP here. This was not me. I'm looking for bigger water parks. Our sons loved Great Wolf, so something like that.

Hershey Park has a water park inside the park.

More for an overnight trip, there is Sandcastle in Pittsburgh.

Another overnight trip: Moreys Piers in Wildwood, NJ. It's an outdoor facility (don't know if OP is looking for indoor or outdoor since she mentions GWL).

Disney World has 2 really good water parks, blanking in the names
